Dino Toppmöller Linked to Crystal Palace Manager Role

Former Frankfurt boss Dino Toppmöller could be heading to the Premier League. Crystal Palace are reportedly considering Toppmöller as a potential replacement for Oliver Glasner.

Negotiations Underway

According to reports, talks are underway between Crystal Palace and Toppmöller. The 45-year-old is reportedly ready for a new challenge, having been sacked by Eintracht Frankfurt in January. His name has also been linked with SSC Napoli and VfL Wolfsburg in recent weeks.

Toppmöller’s Frankfurt Tenure

Toppmöller previously served as assistant to Julian Nagelsmann at RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich. In his first season as Frankfurt boss, Toppmöller guided the team to sixth place in the Bundesliga. The following year, he led them to third and a Champions League spot and was on course for another European berth last term.

However, he was forced to step down in mid-January with the side sitting seventh.

Glasner’s Departure and Potential Replacement

Oliver Glasner’s time at Crystal Palace may be coming to an end. Glasner announced in January that he would not extend his contract, which expires this June. The 51-year-old’s next move is currently undecided, with links to Bayer Leverkusen, though they have reportedly chosen Andoni Iraola.

Glasner guided Palace to FA Cup success in 2025 and the Conference League crown. Crystal Palace finished 15th in the Premier League but will compete in the Europa League next term due to their Conference League win.

Possible Reunion of Sorts

Should Toppmöller take charge at Crystal Palace, it would be a curious situation. He replaced Glasner at Frankfurt in the summer of 2023. Glasner had left Eintracht Frankfurt after the 2022/23 campaign, having won the 2022 Europa League with them.
