The Detroit Lions have bolstered their offensive line, announcing the signing of unrestricted free agent Ben Bartch. The move brings Bartch to Detroit for his seventh NFL season. Contract terms were not disclosed by the team.
Bartch’s NFL Career to Date
Ben Bartch’s journey in the NFL began in 2020 when he was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was a fourth-round selection, chosen 116th overall out of St. John’s (Minn.). Bartch spent time with both the San Francisco 49ers (2023-25) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (2020-23).
Throughout his career, Bartch has accumulated experience in 55 games, starting in 24 of those appearances.
From Jaguars to 49ers to Lions
Bartch initially joined the NFL ranks as a draftee for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played for the Jaguars from 2020 to 2023. Subsequently, he spent time with the San Francisco 49ers from 2023 to 2025. Now, he joins the Detroit Lions as an unrestricted free agent.
The Lions will be hoping Bartch’s experience can add depth and competition to their offensive line.
