Deion Sanders Courts Top Colorado Recruit Jackson Roper

The Colorado Buffaloes are turning their attention to recruiting for 2027 after bringing in over 40 new transfers during the offseason.

Top Colorado Prospect Visits Boulder

Colorado’s staff scheduled an official visit with a three-star defensive lineman on Wednesday. On Thursday, they are set to host Jackson Roper, a 2027 four-star offensive lineman, for an unofficial visit. Roper is the No. 1 player in Colorado.

Roper has already visited the Nebraska Cornhuskers twice, a rival of the Buffaloes. He also visited USC this week.

Roper is a massive 6-foot-5, 205 pounds. He has experience playing multiple positions up front, including left tackle. Roper excels at quickly reaching the second level and finishing blocks with strong hands. 247Sports projects Roper as an interior offensive lineman but notes he has the athleticism to move around if needed.

Colorado is one of 35 schools to offer Roper a scholarship. Offensive coordinator Brennan Marion and head coach Deion Sanders will try to convince the top prospect to stay home.

Other Recruits Visiting Colorado

Jordan Mitchell, a wide receiver and cornerback from Aurora, Colorado, is also set to visit Boulder. Mitchell is currently unranked by 247Sports but holds offers from Syracuse and New Mexico.

Nico Mavromat, Mitchell’s Cherokee Trail teammate and a linebacker, is also visiting. Mavromat is unranked but is considered one of the top linebackers in the state.

Jaden Baldwin, a three-star wide receiver from Chandler, Arizona, will also be at Friday’s spring practice. Baldwin is the No. 634 player in the country, the No. 72 wide receiver, and the No. 12 overall recruit from Arizona, according to On3.
