County Championship: Harris Hits Century, Bracewell Admits Cocaine Use

Marcus Harris has scored a century for Lancashire, while former New Zealand all-rounder Doug Bracewell admitted to using cocaine. These are just some of the stories emerging from the County Championship.

Harris’ Century Anchors Lancashire

Marcus Harris has been holding things together for Lancashire. He reached his second century of the season, his 35th in First Class cricket. The first of these came in his third game when he was only 18.

Harris currently has 103 from 214 balls. He put together partnerships of 61 with Matty Hurst and 59 with Paul Coughlin. Coughlin was bowled by Ben Raine for 31 with the second delivery of the new ball.

Lancashire surpassed 300, earning a second batting point. Tom Bailey was in his ground, preventing a run out.

Bracewell’s Admission and Other Match Updates

Doug Bracewell admitted to using cocaine after the first day of Essex’s final County Championship match last year.

Glamorgan have settled well again since Sean Dickson’s dismissal for 90. Tim van der Gugten is 11 not out off 36 balls, and Mason Crane has ticked on to 13 off 20.

Worcestershire’s Dan Lategan fell for 25. He had scored those 25 from 19 balls with six fours, but was caught in the slips by Tawanda Muyeye off Matt Milnes.

Essex are hoping that Noah Thain will prove a worthy selection in the middle order. Michael Pepper is under way with four off Matt Fisher.

Partnerships and Milestones

Tom Price (85*) and John Simpson (63*) have formed a partnership. Half of Gloucestershire’s runs have come from their partnership.

Miles Hammond square drove Martin Andersson and sprinted back for a second run, taking Gloucestershire from 150 to 200. Chris Woakes brought up Warwickshire’s 100 partnership for the seventh wicket, along with his captain Ed Barnard. Woakes lifted Lyndon James over mid-wicket to the boundary.

There are six overs away from Notts batting.

Jacob Bethell is opening the batting for RCB vs GT, gaining some level of exposure.
