Cheryl Bosa Sparks Rumours of Brothers Playing Together

Rumours are circulating that Joey Bosa could be set to join his brother, Nick Bosa, at the San Francisco 49ers. This follows comments from their mother, Cheryl Bosa, who has previously pushed for the brothers to play together.

Cheryl Bosa’s Previous Advocacy

Cheryl Bosa publicly pushed for San Francisco to sign Joey Bosa last year. However, Joey Bosa ultimately signed a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills. In 2024, Cheryl also advocated for the Los Angeles Chargers to trade Bosa to the 49ers.

Joey Bosa’s Potential Impact

The possibility of Joey Bosa joining Nick Bosa in San Francisco has generated excitement. Despite turning 31 this summer, Joey Bosa led the NFL with five forced fumbles in his one season with the Buffalo Bills. He recorded 29 tackles and five sacks in 15 games last year, his most since 2021.

Joey Bosa’s 77 career sacks rank 10th in the NFL since his rookie year in 2016.

Waitman’s Special Punting Style

In other 49ers news, new punter Corliss Waitman believes his left-footed style gives him an edge. Waitman explained that left-footed punts have a different spin that can cause returners to muff the catch. According to Waitman, returners can work on getting used to the different spin, and they are professionals.

It’s looking like a good week for the 49ers to sign Joey Bosa.
