Day three of the Cheltenham Festival saw plenty of dramatic finishes, with Ask Brewster’s victory in the Kim Muir Challenge Cup Handicap Steeple Chase being a particular highlight. Road To Home looked like he had the race won, but jockey Shane Cotter managed to just edge it. The race was described as a dramatic finish to day three.
Ask Brewster’s Kim Muir Triumph
Glengouly and Ask Brewster were taking it in turns to set the pace early in the Kim Muir. Monbeg Genius and Prends Garde A Toi both made good ground during the race. Daily Present, last year’s winner, came from right down the pack. Ask Brewster is about a length clear though.
Charlie Poste noted that Ask Brewster was a dramatic winner. According to Andrew Thornton, Ask Brewster was getting along a little scruffy over the last two fences, but Shane Cotter found enough to galvanise him. He added that it was a tough performance, but the horse won quite cosy in the end.
Road To Home came with a withering challenge, but Ask Brewster deserved success.
