Caroline Garcia Announces Pregnancy, Sloane Stephens Not Mentioned

Former world No. 4 Caroline Garcia has announced that she and her husband, Borja Duran, are expecting their first child.

The announcement came less than a year after Garcia officially retired from tennis.

Garcia’s Announcement

The couple shared the news in a joint post on their social media accounts. They were pictured walking along the beach at the Hotel Fairmont Mayakoba Riviera Maya in Mexico, holding sonogram photos and wearing blue.

Garcia, 32, married Duran last summer in Spain. They work together to produce the popular “Tennis Insider Club” podcast, which debuted in 2024.

Warm Wishes From Fellow Players

Garcia’s news was warmly received by WTA players. Paula Badosa, Barbora Krejcikova and Jasmine Paolini were among those offering congratulations.

Former world No. 1 Garbiñe Muguruza, who just had a son, and Ons Jabeur, who will welcome a son next month, also shared their good wishes.

Garcia’s Career and Future

Garcia had an emotional send-off at Roland Garros last spring and played her last match at the US Open. She is the former WTA Finals champion.

She hosts the “Tennis Insider Club” podcast, offering an unfiltered perspective on professional tennis. This is one of several player-produced podcasts in the sport.

Last summer in Cincinnati, Garcia confessed that she hoped “this new chapter is bringing me way more joy and light in my life.” She has been frank about how pressure and expectations impacted her negatively during her career.

Garcia and Duran’s “Tennis Insider Club” podcast has been running since its 2024 debut.

Ons Jabeur has said she “definitely” wants to come back to tennis as a mother.
