Cadillac Championship Location: Where the Golf Tournament Is Held

Cameron Young leads the Cadillac Championship after two days, following up his first-round performance with another strong showing.

Young made his first bogey of the week but maintained his lead going into the weekend.

Return to the Blue Monster Course

The PGA Tour has returned to the Blue Monster Course at Trump National Doral in Miami for the first time since 2016 for the Cadillac Championship. Young shot an eight-under-par 64 on Thursday. He followed that up with a 67 on Friday to remain the frontrunner.

Young’s only bogey was at the par-four 14th. He regained the stroke two holes later, driving the green at the par-four 16th and two-putting for birdie.

“There’s a lot of golf to be played on a difficult golf course,” Young said. “But so far, I’ve played well.”

Scheffler’s Performance

Young played with world No 1 Scottie Scheffler, who had a bogey-free 67. Scheffler ended the day seven shots off the lead.

“I definitely need to not get further away,” Scheffler said. “No, it depends on how the golf course is playing. All I can do is go out there and be committed to what I need to do and that’s pretty much it.”

Fitzpatrick’s Rise

England’s Alex Fitzpatrick moved 31 places up the leaderboard into tied sixth after shooting a round of 66.

A week removed from teaming up with his brother Matt and winning the Zurich Classic, Fitzpatrick remained in good form on Friday as he shot a bogey-free round. Fitzpatrick said, “The text messages and stuff has slowed down, but the overwhelming feeling of like joy and happiness is yet to go away.”

Fitzpatrick added, “I think for me, this year, it’s going to be a whirlwind and no matter what happens it will be a success. I can’t believe how many people have come up to me and congratulated me…players and caddies and staff. It’s been incredible.”

Alex Smalley is five shots back from Young in second. Nick Taylor and Jordan Spieth are joint-third.

Fitzpatrick had a ticket for a Sunday night flight that would have taken him from New Orleans.
