Bournemouth will be without Tyler Adams for their Premier League clash with Manchester United.
Cherries boss Andoni Iraola revealed the USA international will miss Friday night’s match.
Adams Absence Confirmed
Tyler Adams, an influential figure for Bournemouth, was absent from the matchday squad for the 0-0 draw at Burnley last weekend. His absence was explained as a precaution.
There was some hope he would be fit for the match at the Vitality Stadium, but it has been decided not to risk the midfielder, with a pause in domestic football on the horizon.
Iraola said at his pre-match press conference on Thursday that Adams is not going to be available.
Cook Still Sidelined
Lewis Cook is also set to remain without a game.
Iraola stated they want to use the three weeks without a game for Cook to recover properly and be ready for the next one.
Other Absences for Bournemouth and United
Julio Soler and Justin Kluivert also remain sidelined for the south-coast side.
Manchester United are without Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt and Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu. Noussair Mazraoui could recover from illness, after missing training in midweek.
Adams’ Previous Injury
Adams was injured in the very early stages of the reverse fixture, the entertaining 4-4 draw at Old Trafford in December.
The 27-year-old missed a big chunk of the campaign as a result but returned to the fold for the draws against West Ham United, Sunderland and Brentford, picking up yellow cards in the latter two fixtures.
Adams is described as a tigerish presence in the middle of the park.
Following Friday’s game, Bournemouth have almost three weeks without a game.
