Berrettini’s French Open Form in Doubt Ahead of Fucsovics Clash

Matteo Berrettini’s form is in question as he prepares to face Marton Fucsovics in the first round of the French Open.

Berrettini’s Poor Form a Factor

Berrettini enters Paris having lost three of his last five matches. He is currently ranked outside the top 100. His recent form could make his match against Marton Fucsovics more competitive than the odds suggest.

In his last match, Berrettini lost to Ugo Carabelli in the 1/8-Finals in straight sets in Valencia. Fucsovics has also struggled, losing four of his last five matches. His last match was a straight sets defeat to Prizmic in Rome.

Fucsovics a Tough Clay Court Opponent

Despite his own struggles, Marton Fucsovics is always a tough opponent on clay. Last season in Paris, the Hungarian lost to Paul in the second round in five sets.

Berrettini last played at the French Open in 2021, when he lost to Djokovic in the quarterfinals.

He was a semifinalist here in 2022. Last season, the Croat lost to Cobolli in the opening round in straight sets.
