Texas Tech faced UCLA in the Women’s College World Series. Texas defeated Nebraska after trailing for over five innings. The Longhorns will advance to face Tennessee in the semi-final.
Brazil defeated Panama 6-2. Danilo and Carlos Harvey both scored. Lucas Paquetá assisted on multiple goals.
Cowboy Baseball has extended its season at the NCAA Regional. Kollin Ritchie and Colin Brueggemann both hit home runs. Brueggemann also recorded four RBIs.
UCLA defeated Arkansas 11-0 in an elimination game at the Women’s College World Series. The Bruins added four home runs to their Division I single-season record. The contest ended in the fifth inning due to a run-rule.
Kyle Larson is set to drive the No. 88 car for JR Motorsports in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series race at Nashville Superspeedway. He replaces Alex Bowman, who was originally scheduled to drive. Bowman was also meant to race the No. 88 car at Darlington Raceway, but vertigo forced him to withdraw.
The NCAA Division I baseball tournament commenced with upsets, including Milwaukee’s victory over Auburn and Saint Mary’s defeat of UCLA. Oklahoma defeated The Citadel, while VCU eliminated Tennessee. UCLA scored three in the bottom of the ninth to win against Virginia Tech.
The Giants have called up outfielder Jonah Cox from Double-A Richmond. Cox, who describes himself as a “hair-on-fire” player, got the news at a team meeting. The Giants are hoping Cox will provide a spark as they fend off the Rockies.
The NASCAR Cup Series continues with the Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. Denny Hamlin is on the pole after qualifying was cancelled. Three Ford drivers are close to the Chase cutline.
