Almirón’s Fitness a Concern
Miguel Almirón is questionable due to knee irritation. He has been out of the team since the U.S. Open Cup match on April 15. According to Martino, Almirón trained individually and with the group. A decision will be made on whether he will play this weekend or wait another week.
Sergio Santos is eligible to play after recovering from a calf issue. Ronald Hernández is questionable with an abdominal injury. Steven Alzate is still nursing his adductor.
Miranchuk Taking on More Responsibility
Alexey Miranchuk has been a standout performer for Atlanta United. He leads the team with seven goal contributions in MLS play. Miranchuk is coming off a brace of assists against CF Montréal.
Stian Gregersen noted Miranchuk is taking on more responsibility and communicating more with his teammates. Miranchuk himself said he is pushing himself to speak in the locker room to encourage his fellow players.
Martino stated that Miranchuk is taking on the responsibility expected of him. Cooper Sanchez is also seen as a critical piece for the 5-Stripes for the rest of the season.
Atlanta United will be hoping to continue their good form as they face LA Galaxy.
