Tottenham are playing Aston Villa. The match is a Premier League fixture.
Spurs Dominate Early Play
Spurs attacked early, down the right flank. Palinha spanked a shot against an upright from just outside the area. Martinez may have gotten a fingertip to it. It was nearly 2-0 to Tottenham.
Tottenham’s Kevin Danso went down injured after a foul from behind by Tammy Abraham.
Gallagher Scores First Tottenham Goal
A throw from the Spurs right was half-cleared. Gallagher killed the ball with a first touch, getting it out of his feet, then belted a low shot into a corner. That’s Gallagher’s first Tottenham goal.
Villa Look Rickety
Palinha floated a diagonal pass, right to left, and found Tel in an attacking position. But his first touch let him down. This Villa side looks a bit rickety, and they’re clearly not all that familiar with each other. So far it’s been all Spurs.
Udogie got to the byline running on to a pass from the left wing, leaving Sancho behind. Sancho didn’t look interested in tracking that run. Barkley hasn’t started well either, giving the ball away.
Bright Start for the Visitors
Richarlison had an early chance at goal after Emi Martinez played a poor pass for Barkley, but scuffed his shot. Spurs then had a corner, and then another corner. It’s been a bright start by the visitors.
Tottenham fans will only care about getting three points.
The FA needs to look at clubs deliberately sending out a “weakened” side and/or tanking during a game they feel isn’t that important.
