Arsenal Transfer News: Karl Hein to Werder Bremen in 2026

Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein will make a permanent move to Werder Bremen in July 2026.

Hein’s Journey With Arsenal

The 24-year-old joined Arsenal in June 2018. He signed his first professional contract with the club the following year. Hein made his first-team debut in November 2022 in a Carabao Cup third-round match against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium.

Loan Spells and International Career

Hein, an Estonia international with 45 senior appearances for his country, spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan with Werder Bremen, where he made two Bundesliga appearances. The 6’4″ goalkeeper had also previously spent time on loan in the Championship with Reading during the 2021/22 season. He also spent time with Real Valladolid, where he made 32 appearances in all competitions last season.

Arsenal have thanked Karl for his contribution to the club. They have also wished him all the best for his next chapter with Werder Bremen.
