Ken Read, a well-known sailor, will skipper American Racing Challenger Team USA. The United States holds a unique position in the history of the America’s Cup. They won the first edition in 1851 and then defended the trophy for 132 consecutive years.
That win established the longest winning streak in sports history. Andrea Abodi, the Minister for Sport, commented on the global appeal of the event. He stated that the participation of an American challenge confirms the event’s global reach.
Acquisition of Assets and Competition Details
American Racing Challenger Team USA has acquired all sports assets from American Magic. These assets include the AC75 Patriot and AC40 boats. This acquisition allows the team to be well-prepared for the start in Naples in the spring of 2027.

Teams Competing for the America’s Cup
