Carlos Alcaraz and Cam Norrie are preparing to compete at the BNP Paribas Open. The match is scheduled for Thursday, March 11, and will be available on the Tennis Channel app.
Norrie’s Strategy Against Alcaraz
Norrie has a 3-5 record against the Spaniard. He handed Alcaraz one of his nine losses of 2025 in Paris. “There’s no secrets,” Norrie said when asked about his win against Alcaraz. “I think I had to play well for over two hours, more than that. I had to keep pushing.”
Norrie believes he has a chance against Alcaraz because he has always played him tough. He is a lefty, which can disrupt Alcaraz’s forehand. His speed and consistency, combined with a compact backhand and good hands at the net, allow him to extend points.
“I was able to take the tennis to kind of the way I like to play it, playing long points,” Norrie said after his Paris win.
The Indian Wells Courts
The courts in Indian Wells should give Norrie a chance to extend rallies. In 2022, Alcaraz won against Norrie in the desert 6-4, 6-3. This upcoming match might be closer, and Norrie might push him harder.
Other Quarterfinal Matches
All eight singles quarterfinals at the BNP Paribas Open take place on Thursday, March 11, streaming on the Tennis Channel app. These include:
- Aryna Sabalenka vs. Victoria Mboko
- Jannik Sinner vs. Learner Tien
- Alexander Zverev vs. Arthur Fils
- Linda Noskova vs. Talia Gibson
- Iga Swiatek vs. Elina Svitolina
- Elena Rybakina vs. Jessica Pegula
- Daniil Medvedev vs. Jack Draper
While Norrie might push Alcaraz, it will probably take more than Norrie has to knock Carlitos off his pedestal right now. Winner: Alcaraz.
