Aaron Rai’s golf bag stands out, as the Englishman uses iron headcovers, wears two golf gloves, and plays with a seven-year-old driver.
An equipment-free agent, Rai’s bag contains some interesting choices.
Rai’s Trusty TaylorMade Driver
The oldest club in Rai’s bag is his TaylorMade M6 driver, a club that was released back in 2019.
Rai is known for his accuracy off the tee. His driver is set at 9° and has an Aldila Synergy Blue 70 TX shaft, a recent change from his Mitsubishi Diamana BB 73 TX.
Fairway Woods and Hybrid Choices
Rai uses TaylorMade Qi10 fairway woods in a 3-wood and 5-wood configuration, despite the age of the driver.
Both Qi10s have Fujikura Ventus Blue 8 X shafts. The 3-wood is set at 15° and the 5-wood at 18°.
Depending on the course conditions, Rai may use a Titleist GT2 hybrid instead of his 4-iron.
The hybrid is set at 24° and has a Mitsubishi Tensei CK Pro White Hybrid 90 TX shaft, and has featured numerous times throughout the 2026 season.
Irons, Wedges, and Putter
Rai uses TaylorMade P7TW irons from 5-iron to 9-iron, similar to Scottie Scheffler and Tommy Fleetwood.
His irons have True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 shafts.
Rai protects his irons with headcovers. He says that his dad used to clean every groove with a pin and baby oil, then put iron covers on to protect them.
Rai uses Titleist Vokey SM11 wedges, having switched from the SM9 at the start of 2026.
He carries a pitching wedge, sand wedge, and lob wedge, set at 46º, 54º, and 60º, respectively. They all have True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S300 shafts, like his irons.
Rai’s putter is a TaylorMade Spider Tour V, which has become more popular throughout 2026.
He made the switch around the time of the British Masters in August, where he was previously using the TaylorMade HydroBlast TP DuPage.
Ball and Gloves
Rai plays the Titleist Pro V1, a model he has used since he was around 10-years-old.
He stated that the margin between hitting great shots and being in bad spots is so small. When he does his job well, it’s paramount to have the right ball.
