Efraín Juárez will remain with Pumas de la UNAM for at least six more months. Amid speculation about his departure, his representative, David Baldwin, confirmed his commitment to the club.
Representative Confirms Juárez Staying Put
Baldwin stated, “Just to clarify, Efraín Juárez is not leaving Pumas. We have a contract and we will fulfill it unless we are told otherwise. We have had an amazing season and Efraín has done an incredible job with Pumas.”
Juárez also posted a photo on Instagram with Baldwin and Luis Pérez, his assistant. This further indicates that he will remain with Pumas.
Interest from Abroad
It had been reported that Juárez would respect his current contract with the club. There were even talks to extend his agreement for another year. Juárez has attracted interest from teams in MLS and the Belgian league, potentially shaping his future in the coming years.
In a previous interview, Juárez expressed his desire to be the Sir Alex Ferguson of Pumas. He was surprised that the management had not approached him to offer a renewal as the season neared its final stage.
Club President Signals Continuity
The president of Pumas, Dr. Luis Raúl González, shared a message indicating the club’s commitment to the project’s continuity. However, he did not specifically mention Efraín’s name.
Meanwhile, Antonio Sancho, the sporting director, is working to acquire Robert Morales and Jordan Carrillo. These players became key figures in the team’s scheme and are currently on loan with the club.
Telemundo Deportes had already reported Juárez’s stay, respecting his current contract with the club.
