Albert Riera Sacked as Eintracht Frankfurt Manager

Eintracht Frankfurt have announced the departure of their coaching staff, confirming that head coach Albert Riera, along with assistant coaches Pablo Remon Arteta and Lorenzo Dolcetti, have left the club.

The termination of their contracts was mutually agreed and is effective immediately.

Riera’s Tenure at Frankfurt

Albert Riera took over as head coach in February. During his time in charge, Eintracht Frankfurt secured four wins, five draws, and suffered five losses. The team finished the 2025/26 Bundesliga season in eighth place.

Sporting Director’s Statement

Markus Krösche, Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director, issued a statement regarding the coaching change.

“After intensive discussions, we have jointly decided to end our collaboration with immediate effect,” Krösche said. “Albert Riera took over the team during a difficult period and dedicated himself to Eintracht Frankfurt with great diligence and commitment.”

Krösche continued, “Albert and his team also provided us with valuable input through their meticulous work, for which we would like to express our sincere gratitude. At the same time, after an open and honest analysis of the team’s performance, we have concluded that we want to pursue a different path for the upcoming season. We wish Albert Riera, as well as Pablo Remon Arteta and Lorenzo Dolcetti, all the best for their future, both personally and professionally.”
