Wednesday’s Baltimore Orioles game has been rescheduled due to the weather forecast.
The risk of rain and thunder is expected to increase later in the day as a cold front moves through the area.
First Pitch Brought Forward
The Baltimore Orioles have moved up their first pitch time on Wednesday to 1:05 p.m., in an attempt to get ahead of the anticipated rain and storms. The original schedule has been altered because of the risk for showers and storms.
The odds favour a dry start to the game, though showers are possible as it progresses. Fortunately, the earlier start time should mean the risk of lightning holds off until after the game.
Impending Weather Conditions
Wednesday will begin with pleasant weather. Sunshine is expected, with temperatures rising from the 50s into the 70s.
However, a second round of rain is expected in the evening, arriving with the cold front. This second round is more likely to be heavier, potentially with gusty winds and lightning.
The storms are expected to taper off after midnight, with cooler winds arriving on Thursday.
Cooler Temperatures on the Horizon
A few showers could linger on Thursday, and it will be much cooler. Highs on Thursday will only reach near 60 degrees, accompanied by a brisk northwest wind.
Looking Ahead to the Weekend
After a cool start to May, the weather is expected to become more summery over the weekend. On Saturday, highs will climb to the low 80 degrees.
Sunday will be even warmer, with temperatures in the upper 80s. There may be a few brief showers over the weekend, but most of it looks dry.
Next week is forecast to be even hotter, with highs near 90 degrees and higher humidity. This hotter weather could eventually lead to thunderstorms during the middle of next week.
