Armando Broja’s spell at Burnley has been a frustrating one. The Albanian international could now be the subject of interest from Italian clubs this summer.
Limited Game Time at Turf Moor
Broja joined Burnley from Chelsea for £20m last summer. He’d previously had four loan spells away from Chelsea, including one at Everton last season.
During the current campaign, Broja has played just over 800 minutes in the Premier League. He has two goal contributions, but physical problems have been a recurring issue.
Broja’s lack of game time has been apparent. He played less than 30 minutes combined during Scott Parker’s last five games as manager.
Italian Clubs Circle After Relegation
Udinese and Parma were interested in the 24-year-old before his move to Turf Moor. Burnley’s relegation means the striker could become an opportunity in the summer transfer window once again.
It is believed Burnley will be open to a loan. This could make a move favourable for Italian clubs.
Parma may lose Mateo Pellegrini and Udinese may part ways with Keinan Davis in the summer. This situation is making the two clubs consider Broja as an option.
A Chance to Rebuild in Serie A?
Burnley will now have to accept a loss, given that Broja hasn’t got back to what he once was.
As a result, a move to Italy looks a reasonable prospect.
Keinan Davis could be a good example for Broja to follow. The former Aston Villa player is finding form at Udinese, which is something Broja can look to replicate.
