Littler’s Performance in Liverpool
Littler, speaking after his win, expressed his satisfaction. He said he was very happy with himself and is looking ahead to next week.
Reflecting on his game against Michael van Gerwen, Littler acknowledged it was probably the best they’ve played against one another for a long time. He noted the pressure van Gerwen put him under and was pleased to get another win.
Littler also spoke about his doubling success, stating he was thankful it was there tonight. He noted there were a lot of crucial doubles at crucial times through the night.
Addressing the crowd reception, Littler said that it was not as bad as the one he received in Rotterdam a week ago. He said he was focused and wanted to win.
Clayton’s Perspective
Aled Williams reported it was a disappointing end to Jonny Clayton’s bid to win a third successive nightly final as rival Luke Littler closes the gap at the top with a resounding win.
Mardle’s Analysis
Wayne Mardle described Littler’s performance as brilliant, noting his average of over 104 and six 180s.
Mardle added that it was not a poor performance from Jonny Clayton, in fact it was one of his best performances of the evening, but it just wasn’t good enough to beat the world number one.
Looking Ahead to Aberdeen
Premier League Darts heads to Aberdeen next week for night 13.
Luke Littler and Jonny Clayton are on opposite sides of the draw, so could meet in another final.
