76ers Face Pistons with Eastern Conference Implications

The Philadelphia 76ers will host the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night in an Eastern Conference showdown.

The Sixers are coming off a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Pistons are looking to clinch the No. 1 seed in the East.

Pistons Aim to Clinch Top Spot

With a victory over the 76ers, the Pistons would officially clinch the No. 1 seed in the East. This would put them out of reach of the Boston Celtics.

The Pistons are currently leading the Eastern Conference. The Celtics are four games back in second place.

Injury Concerns for Both Teams

The Pistons have been dealing with the loss of star guard Cade Cunningham, who has missed the last nine games due to injury. Isaiah Stewart has also been sidelined with a calf injury since mid-March.

Marcus Sasser is probable with a hip strain. Tobias Harris is questionable after exiting the Pistons’ last contest early with a knee contusion.

As for the Sixers, it is the second leg of a back-to-back. There are no official injury reports yet. Joel Embiid has not played both legs of any back-to-back this season.

Paul George has not played on zero days rest either this campaign.

Pistons’ Performance Without Cunningham

Even without Cunningham and Stewart, the Pistons have been playing well. They have gone 7-2 in the last nine games without their team’s leader.

Jalen Duren has been performing well, averaging 19.5 points on 64.5% field goal shooting.
