Zachary Svajda Reaches French Open Third Round in Career Best Run

Zachary Svajda is making a name for himself at the 2026 French Open.

The 23-year-old from San Diego is enjoying his best-ever run at a Grand Slam tournament.

Svajda’s Impressive French Open Run

Svajda advanced to the third round of the French Open after defeating Australians Alexei Popyrin and Adam Walton. His win against Popyrin was particularly notable, as he recovered from losing the first set to win the next three.

Prior to this, Svajda had reached the second round of the US Open twice, in 2021 and 2025.

Career Highlights and Ranking

Svajda took the first set off Novak Djokovic at last year’s US Open before Djokovic won the following three sets. He also secured a straight-sets victory against Marin Cilic at this year’s Indian Wells Open.

In March 2026, Svajda achieved his career-best ranking of World No. 82. He is currently ranked World No. 74 in the ATP live rankings.
