The 54th running of the Yuengling Shamrock Marathon is scheduled for March 21 and 22, 2026, in Virginia Beach.
The Sports and Fitness Expo kicks off the weekend on Friday.
Finish Line Festivities
The finish line is situated on the boardwalk between 31st Street and 28th Street. Post-race festivities will also take place there.
Tempo Tantrum will headline on Saturday, while #NoFilter will perform on Sunday. Yuengling Flight and Lager will be available for purchase at the party.
Modified Race Routes and Road Closures
Routes for the two major races have been slightly modified from previous years. This is due to limited access to nearby military installations.
City officials have stated that the revised routes were designed to maintain safety for runners. They also aim to minimise disruptions for nearby residents and communities.
Portions of Pacific and Atlantic Avenue, along with a few other roads, will be closed at different times on Saturday and Sunday. Closures will begin at 5 a.m. and are estimated to open no later than 3:30 p.m.
Expo and Race Schedule
The Shamrock Sports & Fitness Expo will take place on Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. It continues on Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m.
Saturday’s race activities will begin with the TowneBank Shamrock 8K race starting at 7:30 a.m. The Leprechaun Dash race follows at 10:30 a.m., and the Operation Smile Shamrock Final Mile race starts at 11 a.m.
Sunday features the Anthem Shamrock Half Marathon & Yuengling Shamrock Marathon, both starting at 7:30 a.m. Post-race celebrations will last through 4 p.m.
Parking Information
Those driving to the marathon can choose from parking at several different lots. These include the 32nd Street Parking Lot and the 31st Street Garage.
