Yankees Game Against Blue Jays Faces Weather Delay

Wednesday night’s Blue Jays-Yankees game faced a delay.

The game was scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m. About an hour before the original first pitch time at Yankee Stadium, the Yankees announced the delay against Toronto because of a forecast of inclement weather.

Thunderstorms Prompt Delay

Severe thunderstorms were expected to move into the area at about 7 p.m.

Fans at the Stadium were informed of the impending delay at 6:15 p.m., but pregame on-field activity went on as scheduled, and the tarp was not immediately rolled onto the field.

Pitching Matchup

Wednesday’s pitching matchup is between Toronto rookie right-hander Trey Yesavage (1-1, 1.40 ERA) and Yanks’ righty Cam Schlittler (6-1, 1.35), one MLB’s best through the season’s first eight weeks.

Yankees Recent Success

The Yankees have won the first two games of this four-game set against the defending AL champs.
