Mark Kaboly, a contributor for WWE.com and Pat McAfee Show, has shared his predictions for the upcoming WWE Clash in Italy.
Reigns vs Fatu: Tribal Combat
The Tribal Combat Match between Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu has become a bitter rivalry. The match is being labelled as a Tribal Combat Match, so anything goes. Reigns isn’t about to allow Jacob to become The Head of the Table and The Shot Caller. The underlying theme of a defeated Fatu being “domesticated” by Reigns is key. Kaboly predicts Roman Reigns will retain the World Heavyweight Championship.
Rhodes vs Gunther: Title Match with Potential Interference
The Undisputed WWE Championship Match between Cody Rhodes and Gunther is predicted to potentially involve outside interference. Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, and Royce Keys could all play a role. It is unknown if Randy Orton has forgotten about The American Nightmare since WrestleMania 42 and is now destined to return. It is also unknown if Sami Zayn is ready to do something that costs the unapologetic champion his title. Then there is the Royce Keys dilemma, and who knows if he gets involved, who he will favour.
Kaboly notes that PLE’s historically scream chicanery without anything really happening. Gunther doesn’t need the gold to move forward.
Lesnar vs Femi: A High-Intensity Clash
Paul Heyman calls Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar “the biggest rematch in WWE history”. This is especially notable when considering some of the biggest rematches in the history of WWE such as The Rock vs. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker, and The Rock vs. John Cena. Lesnar against Femi has all the ingredients necessary to join or be on top of that list after the WWE Clash in Italy.
Femi’s total domination since joining the main roster has been palpable. Oba has yet to lose on the main roster. His slaying of The Beast at WrestleMania 42 in less than five minutes was just a continuation of what he has been doing to the main roster. Kaboly predicts Oba Femi will defeat Brock Lesnar.
