Westbrook Nets Record 208th Triple-Double in Kings’ Victory

Russell Westbrook made history with his NBA-record 208th career triple-double as the Sacramento Kings triumphed over the Chicago Bulls with a score of 126-110. Westbrook’s performance included 23 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds.

The nine-time All-Star shot 7 of 17 with three 3-pointers in 35 minutes. It marked his fourth triple-double of the season. Westbrook also moved within one assist of passing Mark Jackson for sixth on the NBA’s all-time list.

Kings Dominate the Bulls

Rookie center Maxine Raynaud contributed 26 points and 11 rebounds to the Kings’ win. Malik Monk added 30 points, Daeqwon Plowden scored 16, and Precious Achiuwa chipped in with 13.

Collin Sexton led the Bulls with 28 points, including seven 3-pointers, coming off the bench. Josh Giddey recorded a triple-double with 15 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. Matas Buzelis scored 20 points, and Nick Richards had 10 points and 11 rebounds.

The Kings outscored the Bulls 68-36 in the paint.

Early Lead Secures Victory

Playing before a half-filled home crowd, the Kings established an early double-digit lead that the Bulls never threatened.

Raynaud (18 points), Monk (14) and Westbrook (10) led the Kings in the first half. The trio shot a combined 16-for-29, helping Sacramento to a 65-51 halftime lead.

Westbrook’s Ongoing Record

Westbrook’s triple-doubles are an ongoing record. Denver centre Nikola Jokic has the second-most triple-doubles in the NBA with 181.

Westbrook’s achievement came six days after he criticised the Sacramento media for the narrative around the Kings this season.

The Bulls are set to play at Golden State on Tuesday, while the Kings will host the Pacers on Tuesday.
