Jason Weaver has offered his insights on several races, including those at Goodwood. His tips cover multiple locations, with a focus on Saturday’s events.
Goodwood Selections: Hassaleh and Blue Bolt
Weaver suggests Hassaleh in the 13:30 at Goodwood. Despite needing to improve, her pedigree and previous win at Newmarket suggest she’s capable. The drop in trip shouldn’t pose a problem.
Blue Bolt is Weaver’s pick for the 14:05 Goodwood race. Blue Bolt and Shes Perfect are closely matched on official ratings, bringing Group 1 form. A strong showing from Blue Bolt could lead to a Lockinge entry later this month.
Newmarket Tips: Double Rush, Erzindjan, Asfoora, and Avicenna
In the 13:45 at Newmarket, Weaver highlights Double Rush. He won convincingly on his debut for the Andrew Balding stable and is lightly penalised. Invictus Gold is also mentioned as an each-way alternative.
Erzindjan is Weaver’s choice for the 14:20 at Newmarket. He often goes under the radar but possesses the ability to win. He was unlucky in the Cambridgeshire and is reunited with Ray Dawson.
Weaver suggests Asfoora in the 14:55 at Newmarket. Her preparations suggest she has pleased the Lemos De Souza team. Quicker conditions will benefit the Australian superstar sprinter.
For the 15:35 at Newmarket, Avicenna is Weaver’s each-way selection. He needed his return to action and was unlucky in how the race unfolded. A bigger field and stronger gallop should suit him.
Thirsk Pick: Blue Rc
Blue Rc is Weaver’s tip for the 14:40 race at Thirsk. He performs well on both synthetic surfaces and Turf. His recent run in the Championship Mile at Newcastle was arguably a career best, and he has previously won at this venue.
