Voll’s Century Propels Australia to Series Sweep Against West Indies

Georgia Voll smashed a 52-ball century as Australia completed a clean sweep of their T20 series against the West Indies.

Voll’s innings, which included six sixes, helped Australia to 7-211 in St Vincent.

The West Indies’ chase was then halted by rain at 61-3 after 10 overs, resulting in Australia winning by 40 runs via the DLS method.

This was Australia’s last T20 match before they head to England for the World Cup in June.

Voll’s Explosive Century

Voll’s century was the third fastest T20 international century by an Australian woman.

The opener’s innings demonstrated Australia’s desire to play more fearless cricket.

She made her intent clear by hitting Shawnisa Hector over long on in the third over, before hitting three more sixes off the slog sweep later in the innings.

The 22-year-old reached her hundred by slashing Deandra Dottin down to the deep-third boundary.

Hayley Matthews bowled her on the next delivery.

Voll is expected to play a key role for Australia following Alyssa Healy’s retirement.

Other Contributions

Sophie Molineux hit 25 off 12 in her first batting or bowling performance of the series.

Nicola Carey also contributed with an unbeaten 24 off 20.

Megan Schutt dismissed Qiana Joseph with the second ball of the West Indies innings.

Megan Schutt and Lucy Hamilton both claimed 2-11 from two overs before the rain.

Looking Ahead

Australia and West Indies will now play a three-match ODI series in St Kitts.

After that, Australia will face South Africa in England ahead of the World Cup in June.
