Vardy Unavailable for Cremonese’s Bologna Clash

Jamie Vardy is unavailable for Cremonese’s home game against Bologna. The English striker is sidelined with a muscle strain.

The Leicester City legend is not eligible for the Serie A match at the Stadio Zini.

Vardy’s Absence a Blow to Cremonese

Cremonese have confirmed that the 39-year-old has suffered a muscle strain. The injury will be reassessed in the coming days.

Vardy has not been called up for the match against Bologna. This match is crucial in the Grigiorossi’s race for survival.

Cremonese’s Relegation Battle

Vardy has scored five goals and provided two assists in 25 Serie A games this term. He previously missed just two league matches due to minor injuries.

Cremonese are level on 27 points with Lecce. They also share the same goal difference (-19).

Vardy’s side is technically out of the relegation zone because of goals scored (44 to 40).

However, should the two sides finish the season with the same number of points, they’d meet in a relegation play-off. This would determine which team goes to Serie B.

Giampaolo’s Home Debut

Today’s match against Bologna kicks off at 15:00 CET. It is the first home game for new Cremonese coach Marco Giampaolo.

Giampaolo won on his debut away at Parma before the international break.

The match takes place at the Stadio Zini.
