Liberty Aim for Home Win
New York will be looking to continue their winning form after defeating the Portland Fire last Thursday. Breanna Stewart led the way in that victory, recording 22 points and seven rebounds. Pauline Astier contributed 20 points and three rebounds.
The Liberty will be hoping to secure another victory on their home court against the Valkyries.
Valkyries Seek to Bounce Back
Golden State will be aiming to recover from their recent home defeat to the Chicago Sky last Wednesday. Gabby Williams led the Valkyries in the loss, scoring 18 points and securing five rebounds. Veronica Burton recorded 16 points, three rebounds and four assists.
Injury Concerns for Both Teams
Both the Valkyries and the Liberty are dealing with injury concerns ahead of Thursday’s game. The Valkyries have three players on their injury report. The Liberty have six players listed, including Sabrina Ionescu and Satou Sabally.
For the Valkyries, Cecilia Zandalasini has been ruled out due to a concussion. Juste Jocyte is also out due to reconditioning. Iliana Rupert remains sidelined due to her pregnancy.
The Liberty have listed Sabrina Ionescu as questionable due to a left foot injury. Satou Sabally is questionable due to reconditioning. Betnijah Laney-Hamilton has been listed as questionable due to personal reasons. Marine Fauthoux has been ruled out due to reconditioning. Leonie Fiebich and Raquel Carrera have both been ruled out as they remain away from the team due to overseas obligations.
Burton’s Availability
Veronica Burton had been dealing with an illness that caused her to miss practice on Sunday. However, she is not listed on the injury report. Burton will be available for Thursday’s match.
