The main event of UFC 327 features a battle between Jiri Prochazka and Carlos Ulberg for the vacant light heavyweight championship.
Prochazka previously held the title after defeating Glover Teixeira in 2022 but had to relinquish it due to injury. After twice failing to regain the belt in losses to Alex Pereira, Prochazka now sees a path back to the title since Pereira vacated it to challenge for the interim heavyweight championship at UFC Freedom 250 at the White House.
Ulberg gets his first shot at UFC gold on Saturday. After a debut loss to Kennedy Nzechukwu, Ulberg has since accumulated nine consecutive wins, six by stoppage.
UFC 327 can be streamed live on Saturday night with a Paramount+ subscription.
Costa vs Murzakanov in the Co-Main Event
The co-main event will see Paulo Costa, a former middleweight title challenger, move up to light heavyweight to face Azamat Murzakanov. Murzakanov has a 6-0 record since joining the promotion, with five wins by stoppage.
Expert Predictions for the Main Card
Brian Campbell, Brent Brookhouse, Shakiel Mahjouri, Michael Mormile and Brandon Wise from CBS Sports have made their predictions for the main card.
Campbell believes Prochazka’s awkward fighting style will trouble Ulberg. He suggests that Prochazka only needs a small opening to land a decisive blow and secure the finish. Campbell also highlighted Prochazka’s cardio and ability to drag opponents into deep waters, referencing his victory over Khalil Rountree Jr.
Brookhouse describes Prochazka as a throwback fighter with an unrefined and strange style.
