Haslem reflected on the 2014 NBA Finals, where the Heat faced the San Antonio Spurs for the second time. He acknowledged the Spurs’ superior ball movement and coaching during that series.
According to Haslem, the Spurs were simply the better team. He stated that the Spurs beat them and deserved the congratulations.
Favourite Teammates and Funny Stories
When asked about his favourite teammates and funny stories, Haslem singled out Dwyane Wade. He recounted a humorous memory of Wade’s dental woes during their early days with the Heat.
Haslem remembers meeting Wade and being surprised by the number of cavities he had. He recalled waiting an exceptionally long time in the dentist’s waiting room while Wade underwent extensive dental work.
University of Florida Memories and Meeting His Wife
Haslem also shared a favourite memory from his time at the University of Florida. He recalled meeting his wife, Faith, outside his dorm room.
Haslem recounted that Faith stopped to play with his pit bull, which he wasn’t supposed to have in his dorm. This interaction led to a conversation and eventually a relationship.
Reflecting on His Final Season
Haslem said his final year was the most special to him. He explained that it was the year that wasn’t about him.
He felt that every year up until that point was about what he wanted to do.
