UAE carriers, including Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai and Air Arabia, continue to operate most of their international networks despite ongoing regional instability following the recent US-Iran conflict.
No nationwide suspension of commercial flights has been imposed in the UAE, with operational changes largely limited to specific destinations such as Bahrain and Abha.
UAE Carriers Maintain Core Operations
Emirates and Etihad Airways are among the UAE carriers maintaining the majority of their international networks. Flydubai and Air Arabia also continue to operate across their wider networks.
Etihad Airways briefly cancelled flights to Bahrain after the temporary closure of Bahrain International Airport. Meanwhile, flydubai and Air Arabia continue to suspend services to Abha.
International Airlines Extend Suspensions
Several foreign airlines have extended suspensions to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. These extended suspensions cover multiple carriers and varying durations:
- Aegean Airlines has cancelled Dubai flights through August 31.
- Lufthansa and SWISS have suspended Dubai services until September 13.
- British Airways plans to resume Dubai flights on October 25.
- Air Canada, airBaltic, ITA Airways and Singapore Airlines have also extended suspensions through October 24.
EASA Guidance Influences Decisions
The differing responses among airlines are largely due to guidance issued by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
EASA has advised European carriers to avoid operating in parts of Gulf airspace. This advice is based on security risks linked to missile and drone activity.
