Tyler Biadasz Snubs Bears, Inks $30m Deal with Chargers

The Chicago Bears have missed out on a potential replacement for centre Drew Dalman. Free agent centre Tyler Biadasz has signed a three-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Biadasz Chooses Chargers After Visiting Chicago

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport broke the news. Biadasz found a new home after recently being released by the Washington Commanders. He signed with the Chargers on a 3-year, $30 million deal before the start of free agency next week.

Biadasz visited the Bears this week shortly after the news of Dalman’s sudden retirement after just one season with the Bears. Ultimately, he found a home quickly with the Chargers. Chicago will now have to pivot their plans at the center position, but still have plenty of options available including Tyler Linderbaum, most recently with the Baltimore Ravens who the team has been linked to since Dalman’s retirement.

Bears Rejig Roster

It has been a busy week for the Bears who not only saw Dalman retire but also on Thursday made two big moves. They traded veteran wide receiver DJ Moore to the Buffalo Bills, and released veteran linebacker Tremaine Edmunds.

Both moves save Chicago significant salary cap space. They look to fill holes on the offensive and defensive line, as well as the defensive secondary where they have 4 safeties slated to hit free agency.
