The Hippodrome de Toulouse is set to host the Vase d’Argent, a major event in the racing calendar. The event, scheduled for April 19, 2026, promises a blend of sport and entertainment. It will be the third stage of the Défi du Galop – Georges Camprubi (Listed).
A Day at the Races
The day begins at 12h, with the gates opening to the public. Free parking will be available. Several catering options will be open throughout the day. The panoramic restaurant Les Bouillons Toulousains opens at midday, with reservations possible. A round bar, offering grills and chips, a cafeteria for quick bites, and food trucks will also be available.
Vase d’Argent Race Details
From 15h30, the focus shifts to the racing action. Eight national galop races are scheduled every 30 minutes until 20h. The Vase d’argent will be a central attraction. This 2,000-metre race is open to horses aged 4 and over. It is a key stage in the Défi du Galop circuit.
The Défi du Galop brings together some of the best horses and jockeys from the French and European circuit each year. Two other Listed-level races will also feature. This promises an intense and suspenseful programme.
Family Activities On Offer
Beyond the racing, family entertainment is planned. A treasure hunt will commence at 15h30. The first 150 children present can participate in the search for the mysterious gold rabbit. Chocolate eggs will also be distributed throughout the afternoon.
In addition, the public can take free behind-the-scenes tours of the racecourse. These guided tours offer a unique glimpse into the preparation of the horses. The tours also show the organisation of the races, and the daily life of the professionals involved.
Event Information
The event offers something for everyone. Tickets are priced at €6, with a reduced rate of €4 for students and CMI holders. Admission is free for those under 16. The event invites the public to experience horse racing up close.
