Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke has offered his early impressions of new manager Roberto de Zerbi, noting the manager’s direct approach since arriving at the club.
De Zerbi is set to make his debut as Spurs manager today against Sunderland.
De Zerbi’s Honest Feedback
Solanke told Sky Sports that De Zerbi has made a significant impact in a short period. “He’s been honest, given his feedback.”
Solanke highlighted De Zerbi’s playing experience as a key factor in his understanding of the players. “He was a player so knows how we work. We’ve taken to that quickly and it will be great for us.”
Embracing De Zerbi’s Tactical Style
Solanke discussed how De Zerbi wants Spurs to play. “Everyone knows the style of play he has, he loves to have the ball. We all want to be on the ball and create stuff. He’s perfect for that style of play and we are all excited to get going.”
Pressure to Perform
Spurs will kickoff sitting inside the bottom three of the Premier League.
Solanke addressed the pressure on the team. “There is always going to be pressure. The job doesn’t change, we still need to win games no matter where we are in the table.
“We know it’s a big game and we will do everything we can to win.”
