It is not clear when Friday’s game will resume.

Tigers Take the Lead Before Delay

When the game was delayed, the Tigers were leading 5-3. Gleyber Torres was due to bat in the top of the seventh.

Kyle Finnegan, a right-handed reliever, gave up a solo home run to Nathaniel Lowe in the bottom of the sixth as rain began to fall.

Framber Valdez, a left-hander, allowed two runs on four hits and five walks with four strikeouts across 4⅓ innings. Valdez struggled to throw strikes, but the offense created a cushion for him by scoring five runs in the first four innings.

Offensive Struggles and Recent Form

In the top of the sixth, the Tigers wasted bases loaded and no outs. Javier Báez grounded into a force out, and pinch-hitter Kerry Carpenter lined into an unassisted double play.

The Tigers have won 10 of their past 13 games.
