Sunrisers Hyderabad Equal Punjab Kings’ T20 Record

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have matched a record held by Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Gujarat Titans (GT) for the most 200-plus scores in a single T20 tournament.

The record was equalled during an IPL 2026 clash against PBKS on May 6, where SRH scored 235 runs. This achievement marks the eighth time SRH has surpassed the 200-run mark this season.

Hyderabad’s Batting Prowess

Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings previously set the benchmark by scoring 200 or more runs on eight occasions during the IPL 2025 season. Sunrisers Hyderabad equalled this record with their 235/4 score against PBKS in Hyderabad on May 6.

SRH have four matches remaining in the regular season and potentially at least one playoff game. This gives them the opportunity to surpass the record held by PBKS and GT.

A Force to be Reckoned With

Since the IPL 2024 season, SRH’s batting unit has emerged as a dominant force in the league. They have established and broken numerous records, including posting some of the highest totals in IPL history.

The team’s batting line-up features the opening pair of Travis Head and Abhishek, followed by players such as Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen. The team possesses considerable firepower in their top order.

Eyes on the Title

If their batting performance remains consistent, Sunrisers Hyderabad are strong contenders to win their second IPL title this season.

South Africa and India hold the record for the most 200-plus totals in the history of the T20 World Cup, achieving this feat on six occasions each. West Indies follow with four instances.
