The Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals will renew their rivalry on national television. The NBC Sports broadcast team will be covering the game.
The broadcast is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 31, and will be live from Busch Stadium in St. Louis. The game will also stream simultaneously on Peacock.
Viewers can tune in 20 minutes early for pregame coverage. The pregame show will preview the game and discuss the broader MLB landscape.
Broadcast Team Announced
Bob Costas will host the pregame show. Anthony Rizzo will join Costas and provide “Inside the Pitch” analysis during the game.
Jason Benetti of NBC Sports will call the game. He will be joined by MLB veterans Albert Pujols and Jim Deshaies.
Match-Up Preview: Cardinals vs. Cubs
The NL Central is currently a tight race. The Cubs and the Cardinals have a similar number of wins and losses so far this season.
The Cardinals’ home record and the Cubs’ away record make it difficult to give either team an advantage. Both teams are performing in the middle of the pack in terms of overall stats.
Matthew Liberatore is slated to start for St. Louis on Sunday. He leads the team in strikeouts but has also conceded double-digit home runs this season.
Jordan Walker could give the Cardinals an offensive advantage. He has more than 40 RBI so far this season.
