WNBA player Sophie Cunningham has shared her thoughts on a situation involving Angel Reese, Wendell Carter Jr., and Jalen Duren.
Cunningham’s Comments on Reese’s Post
The situation began when Angel Reese reposted a video on her Instagram story showing Wendell Carter Jr. dunking on Jalen Duren. Cunningham discussed the matter on her “Show Me Something” podcast with co-host West Wilson after their producer brought it up.
Cunningham said, “Something had to have happened for [Reese] to keep, I don’t know, wanting to embarrass him in some way.” Wilson suggested that maybe “nothing happened,” but Cunningham responded, “But then move on! Worry about the current boyfriend.”
Playoff Rivalry and Fan Chants
The situation escalated during a game when fans started chanting “Angel Reese” at Carter Jr. This occurred during a game where Duren and the Pistons advanced while Carter Jr. headed home for the offseason.
Cunningham praised her coach for being so involved din her personal life which Dan was disgusted by. He doesn’t understand why modern athletes want their coaches to pour into them, instead they should just want to win games.
Reese’s Response
Reese hasn’t publicly responded to either the chants or Cunningham’s comments.
The WNBA off-the-court discourse remains undefeated.
