Seth Curry Nears Return After Sciatica Sidelines Warriors Guard

Golden State Warriors guard Seth Curry could be back on the court soon, ending a three-month absence due to sciatica.

Curry hasn’t played since December 4. He might be available for selection on Monday or Tuesday.

Curry’s Imminent Return

Curry was not quite ready to play against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday. However, a return next week is possible.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Curry is poised to play for the Warriors for the first time since December 4 next week. He was scratched pregame against Oklahoma City with the hope he’ll play next week, having been considered questionable.

Golden State’s three-game trip concludes Monday against the Utah Jazz, with a Tuesday matchup against the Chicago Bulls at Chase Center.

Rehabilitation and Training

Curry conducted an on-court workout on Thursday before the Warriors beat the Houston Rockets. Kerr confirmed Curry has also participated in recent scrimmages with Golden State.

Limited Playtime This Season

Curry has been limited to two games and 32 minutes this season. This is his 12th season in the NBA and his first with the Warriors.

Kerr said, “Seems like he’s very close. We’ll have to see how he responds in the next couple days.”

Injury Updates on Other Warriors Players

Kerr didn’t have a status update on Moses Moody, who missed his second consecutive game with the right wrist sprain. Moody suffered the injury Monday against the Los Angeles Clippers, and Kerr didn’t have a timetable for his return.

De’Anthony Melton (left knee management) was ruled out despite a questionable designation, but Kerr is hopeful he’ll play Monday against the Jazz. Will Richard (right ankle sprain) missed his third straight game.

The Warriors will be monitoring Curry’s progress over the next few days to determine his availability.
