The Seattle Seahawks have secured the signature of cornerback Noah Igbinoghene. The former Washington Commanders player joins the Seahawks after a six-season career in the sport.
Igbinoghene’s Career So Far
Igbinoghene was a first-round pick out of Auburn. He initially spent three seasons with the Miami Dolphins, playing in 32 games. Ahead of the 2023 season, he was traded to the Dallas Cowboys, where he played five games. He then signed with the Commanders, where he has been for the last two seasons.
Across his six seasons, Igbinoghene has started 17 games. He has recorded 119 tackles, 1.0 sack, two fumble recoveries, 17 passes defended and an interception.
Igbinoghene on Joining the Seahawks
Igbinoghene expressed his enthusiasm about joining the Seahawks. He stated he, “Had an opportunity to come here last year, didn’t choose to, so now, choose the right side this time. So, I’m excited to see how it goes. I’m excited for the opportunity.”
He believes he is a good fit for the team’s culture. Igbinoghene sees himself as a, “champion at heart.”
“Someone who takes care of his body, takes care of himself, takes care of his mind, all parts of himself, and someone who’s going to come in and be physical,” he said. “I feel like I fit the defense and fit the team perfectly well. Everything about this culture, about this team, and this team is a championship team. I’m a champion at heart, so I’m glad to be a part of it and see what happens.”
Special Teams Experience
Igbinoghene also brings special teams experience to the Seahawks. He has experience returning kicks. “It’s something I’ve been doing, since high school,” he said.
He further explained his background: “I played receiver in high school, and a little bit in college as well, so it’s something I did in college too, and I didn’t even know I was going to be good at it. It kind of just worked out and [I] flowed with it… I’ve been doing it the last couple of years, too. Did it a lot more last year. And so, if I’m called to do that here, then I’ll do it.”
Igbinoghene will add depth at cornerback for the Seahawks.
The Seahawks signed Igbinoghene on March 17, 2026.
