The Savannah Bananas hosted a never-before-done pop-up game at Navasota High School on Thursday.
Intimate Audience at Boenker Field
The Savannah Bananas played the Texas Tailgaters. This game was similar to the one they will play on Saturday at Kyle Field. However, the pop-up game was played in front of a much more intimate audience.
The announcement that the game was happening was made at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. The gates at Boenker Field opened shortly after at 4:30, with the show starting at 5:30. The first 1,000 fans were admitted to the game.
Reaction from the Savannah Bananas
KBTX caught up with several members of the Savannah Bananas team.
Those included the founder/owner, Jesse Cole, and the head coach, Tyler Gillum. Players Easton Parrish and Bryce Grizzaffi also spoke to KBTX.
