Samantha Busch, wife of the late Kyle Busch, has reached out to fans with a heartfelt request following an unimaginable loss in May. The family suffered the tragic passing of Kyle Busch, and Samantha is now asking for public help.
On Wednesday morning, Busch took to Instagram to seek suggestions for making mementoes for herself and her children, Lennix and Brexton, out of Kyle’s shirt. Her Instagram story included a suggestion box for ideas. She started her post with the direct appeal, “Need your suggestions.”
Creative Mementoes from Kyle Busch’s Shirts
Samantha Busch explained her desire to create something from Kyle’s shirts for herself and the children to have. She asked if anyone had done anything similar or had any suggestions. Busch offered some initial thoughts on what she might create.
Her ideas included a stuffed animal for Lennix or a blanket. She also considered having some shirts made into a dress or a jacket for her to wear. Busch welcomed any other suggestions from those who had seen or done similar projects, stating, “I’d love if you sent some ideas my way.”
Honouring a Promise and a Racing Legacy
The request comes after Busch posted a promise she made to Kyle in June while he was in the hospital. She revealed this promise, writing, “In the hospital, I made Kyle a promise.” That promise was, “I promised him that I would do everything I could to help our children pursue their dreams no matter what.” For their son Brexton, that dream is racing.
Brexton Busch served as the honorary starter for the Masters Division race that his father was supposed to drive in June. During the event, Kyle Busch’s father, Tom Busch, drove the No. 51 car in an honorary lap. This lap followed the field driving in a missing man formation.
Brexton Busch Continues on Track
Samantha Busch has acknowledged that these moments have not been easy for her. However, she shared that she has also found beauty in them. She wrote about watching Brexton back at the track, describing it as “both heartbreaking and beautiful all at once.”
Busch noted moments when she catches a glimpse of Kyle in Brexton, observing the same determination, passion, and spark. She feels that for a second, it seems a piece of Kyle is still with them. She added that these moments, though incredibly hard, remind her that Kyle’s story is not over, living on through the dreams he inspired and the two children he loved more than anything.
Samantha is clear that while racing remains an interest and a passion for Brexton, she will honour Kyle Busch’s legacy by empowering her son in this endeavour. She clarified that racing was not a dream Kyle chose for Brexton.
Instead, it was something they shared, spending countless hours talking about race cars, working together, dreaming together, and building a bond around a shared genuine love. Samantha stated, “Racing is what lights Brexton up and as long as it’s the dream in his heart, I’ll be right there beside him, cheering him on every step of the way.”
She also expressed openness to future changes, saying, “And if one day his dreams take him somewhere else, that’s okay too.” Samantha noted that if Lennix wants to get behind the wheel, as they just bought her a kart for her fourth birthday, it will not be the same as having Kyle by her side, but they will do their absolute best.
Even though Kyle Busch is gone, a certain comfort and familiarity remains at the racetrack, where many memories were made and cherished. As the Busch family moves forward, Brexton Busch will undoubtedly create some new memories along the way, with thousands watching.
