Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano Set for Netflix MMA Card

Ronda Rousey is set to take on Gina Carano in a headline fight as Netflix presents an MMA card. The five-round main event will take place at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. The card will be broadcast at 9 p.m. ET.

Rousey Enters as Favourite

Rousey enters the fight as the favourite. DraftKings lists Rousey at -575, while Carano is priced at +425.

Rousey’s Return to Competition

Rousey, 39, is returning to competition after 10 years away. Her career record stands at 12-2. She has three wins by knockout and nine by submission.

She joined UFC in February 2013 and won her first six matches. Her last match was a TKO loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship.

Before her MMA career, Rousey competed in judo. She won a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She also won gold at the 2007 Rio de Janeiro Pan American Games.

Carano’s Return After Film Career

Carano, 44, competed in Elite Xtreme Combat and Strikeforce between 2006 and 2009. She has a career record of 7-1. She won her first seven fights.

Carano’s last fight was against Cris Cyborg at Strikeforce in August 2009, where she lost by TKO for the women’s featherweight championship. Following that fight, she retired from competition and transitioned to a film career.
