A Ligue 1 match between Rennes and Lille has been marred by violence after a clash between supporters on Saturday night.

According to reports, a violent altercation broke out on Saturday night on Rue Jean Le Ho in Rennes. Around 200 individuals, identified as football supporters of Rennes and Lille, were involved in the clash. The incident occurred the night before the two teams were scheduled to play at Roazhon Park in Rennes.

The match is an important one for both teams as they seek to secure European qualification.

Police Disperse Fighting Fans

Law enforcement intervened to disperse the 200 supporters. Agents from the BAC and UPS used two tear gas grenades to break up the fight.

One Suffers Head Injury

One injury has been reported as a result of the clash between fans. The injured individual was attended to by firefighters. Reports indicate the person suffered a head injury.

The injured supporter was taken into care by sapeurs-pompiers and is reported to be suffering from a head trauma.

The match between Rennes and Lille is scheduled to take place at Roazhon Park in Rennes as the closing match of the 26th round of Ligue 1.
