Marcus Rashford has seemingly found his footing at Barcelona, with manager Hansi Flick acknowledging his adaptation to the team. This comes amidst swirling rumours regarding Rashford’s long-term future at the club.
Rashford’s Impact at Barcelona
On loan from Manchester United, the England international has made a noticeable impact, contributing 11 goals and 13 assists across 40 appearances in all competitions. Rashford’s contributions have aided Barcelona’s push in La Liga. He scored the opening goal in a 2-1 victory against Atletico Madrid. Barcelona have the option to make Rashford’s move permanent with a £26million buy clause at the end of the season. However, it remains to be seen whether they will activate it.
Flick’s Praise and Future Prospects

Flick previously stated he was “very happy” with Rashford’s performance after his goal against Atletico Madrid. “I’m very happy with Marcus,” the German said. “He has shown his quality and he scored an important goal. I can’t say anything about his future, we have to focus on the matches until the end of the season.”

Speaking to ESPN at the end of 2025, Rashford expressed his desire to remain at Barcelona permanently. “Oh yeah, for sure,” the forward replied when asked if he wanted to stay. “I’m enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves footb
Prior to his loan spells, Rashford lost his No.10 shirt to Matheus Cunha. Former head coach Ruben Amorim had stated he would rather name his 63-year-old goalkeeping coach as a substitute than a player who does not give his all, seemingly in reference to Rashford.
