Raphaël Guerreiro is set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season after both parties mutually agreed not to extend the Portugal international’s contract.
His three-year stay at the club will come to an end at the conclusion of this season.
Guerreiro’s Time at Bayern Munich
Guerreiro joined Bayern on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023.
He has made 89 appearances for the Bavarian giants, lifting a Bundesliga title and the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup.
Eberl’s Praise for Guerreiro
Bayern’s board member for sport Max Eberl praised the departing Guerreiro, saying: “We would like to thank Rapha warmly for the time we have spent together. You could always rely on Rapha on the pitch, and players of his calibre enrich any dressing room. Our discussions with him have been positive, based on trust and mutual understanding. Now, together with him, we are focusing on our goals until the summer – together we still want to achieve a great deal.”
Guerreiro’s Contributions on the Pitch
Guerreiro has netted 12 times and recorded eight assists in his time at Bayern.
He has proven to be an invaluable member of their squad thanks to his versatility, which has seen him play in both full-back positions and in midfield.
Bayern’s Upcoming Match
Next up for Guerreiro and Bayern is a visit to Freiburg on Saturday for Matchday 28.
Luis Díaz and Nicolas Jackson scored in second-half stoppage time to earn the Bundesliga leaders all three points.
